Washington Football Team’s Landon Collins has been named Week 3 NFLPA Community MVP<\/a> for distributing 1,500 meals, as well as gift cards and other resources, to single-parent households in need across Virginia and Washington D.C. during the month of September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an honor and blessing to be named NFLPA Community MVP,\u201d Collins said. \u201cI am grateful for the opportunity to use my platform for change and make an impact in the lives of these families.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With most students in school virtually and many single parents adjusting to this new way of life while also working or facing unemployment, food insecurity has become an even bigger issue in many communities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through his Humble Path Foundation, Collins decided to help those who are facing this type of hardship by hosting a weekly meal delivery program. Since April, with the help of Empowered Mums and Hearts of Empowerment, the foundation has helped to provide thousands of meals to families in need across the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia regions through grocery shop-and-drop-offs, gift card distributions and direct meal deliveries.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
