{"id":1730,"date":"2021-12-04T20:40:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-04T20:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/?p=1730"},"modified":"2021-12-09T20:58:22","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T20:58:22","slug":"my-cause-my-cleats-sparks-players-creativity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2021\/12\/04\/my-cause-my-cleats-sparks-players-creativity\/","title":{"rendered":"My Cause, My Cleats sparks players&#8217; creativity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>NFL players across the league will showcase the causes that are most important to them on the field through the\u00a0<em>My Cause, My\u00a0Cleats<\/em>\u00a0initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"My Cause My Cleats | It Takes All of Us to be part of a movement for the greater good.\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UO6cBMpuBE0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2020\/12\/10\/my-cause-my-cleats-showcases-players-passions\/\">In its sixth consecutive season, <\/a>players will wear custom-painted, cause-inspired\u00a0cleats\u00a0to raise awareness for various non-profit organizations and causes.\u00a0It&#8217;s also an opportunity for players to showcase their creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its inception in 2016, this player-led campaign has provided a platform to bring causes to the forefront on gameday. This year&#8217;s causes include topics such as tackling social injustice, supporting youth, addressing mental health, raising awareness for disability research, and empowering veterans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1732\" width=\"394\" height=\"221\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For this year&#8217;s initiative, 17% of players selected cancer research causes, 16% selected causes related to social justice, while 14% of players will raise awareness for additional disease prevention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Players worked with artists and\u00a0cleat\u00a0manufacturers to create their custom-designed\u00a0cleats\u00a0and will wear them during Week 13 games. NFL teams without a home game during Week 13 may also activate during Week 14 or 15. You can see all of the causes players are representing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/causes\/my-cause-my-cleats\/2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;&#8216;My Cause My&nbsp;Cleats&#8217; allows players to shine a light on the causes they hold dear and the incredible work they do to help others year-round,&#8221; said&nbsp;<strong>NFL COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL<\/strong>. &#8220;We are grateful and humbled by their commitment to make a difference and this program allows them to share their passions with the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following Week 13 games, hundreds of players will donate their\u00a0cleats\u00a0by auctioning them on NFL Auction where 100% of funds raised will be donated to the charities they select.
