{"id":2260,"date":"2022-12-23T02:24:32","date_gmt":"2022-12-23T02:24:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/?p=2260"},"modified":"2023-01-06T03:27:35","modified_gmt":"2023-01-06T03:27:35","slug":"kyle-kuzma-and-delon-wright-cheer-on-college-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2022\/12\/23\/kyle-kuzma-and-delon-wright-cheer-on-college-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Kyle Kuzma and Delon Wright Cheer on College Team"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Washington Wizards are on a west coast road trip with their next stop being a face-off against the Utah Jazz.&nbsp;With a night off before Thursday\u2019s game, Kyle Kuzma and Delon Wright made a pit stop at their alma mater, University of Utah Utes, to watch the men\u2019s basketball team take on Texas Christian University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wright and Kuzma were college teammates at Utah and now they find themselves together again in Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Utes \u2192 Wizards <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mnWNxavpFZ\">pic.twitter.com\/mnWNxavpFZ<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Washington Wizards (@WashWizards) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WashWizards\/status\/1605756265442865153?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 22, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDelon is a guy I used to look up to in college,\u201d Kuzma said at Wizards Media Day. \u201cHe was a Bob Cousy Award-winner and I was the freshman playing like 5-7 minutes a game, so I got a front row seat to watch him methodically dominate people in college. I learned so much from him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Utah, Wright was twice named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team and became the first player in men\u2019s basketball history to be named to the first-team All-Pac 12 in consecutive years.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2022\/10\/27\/kyle-kuzma-embraces-new-leadership-role\/\">Kuzma had a slower start <\/a>due to signing late and redshirting during his 2013-14 season. He moved into the starting lineup his sophomore year. He went on to lead Utah in his final season with 16.4 points and 9.3 rebounds and was named to the All-Pac 12 First Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s clear that Kuzma and Wright didn\u2019t forget where they came from with their visit to Utah before they get back to the NBA grind.
