However, the Kansas State product is hoping he proved enough in the Wizards pre-draft workout on Saturday to show he has what it takes to be successful in the NBA.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Wizards pre-draft workouts are underway. I\u2019m a good teammate. I\u2019m a hard worker. I\u2019m going to defend whether you\u2019re 5\u20197 or 7\u20194. I\u2019m going to go out there and compete and I\u2019m going to bring a winning attitude. That\u2019s what I think I can bring to every organization in the NBA.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is any NBA team that doesn\u2019t have a problem working with smaller point guards, it\u2019s the Wizards. Muggsy Bogues (5\u20193), Earl Boykins (5\u20195), Isaiah Thomas (5\u20199) and Michael Adams (5\u201910) all successfully suited up in a Washington uniform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, Nowell has been gaining some wisdom from Bogues throughout the pre-draft process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe gave me a couple of things. The most important thing is just keep being a good person.\u201d Nowell told Double Take Sports when asked what advice from Bogues has stuck with him. \u201cBeing a good person is so underrated and it can get you into a lot of doors. So, he was like just keep being a good person and keep doing what got you here because I made it this far. Don\u2019t try to be nothing I\u2019m not and just continue to keep building and continue to keep growing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After participating in Wizards pre-draft workouts, Kansas State PG Markquis Nowell (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MrNewYorkCityy?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MrNewYorkCityy<\/a>) shared with me what he is learning about himself through this process &amp; some advice he received from Muggsy Bogues that has stuck with him: \u201cJust be a good person.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dbltakesports?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@dbltakesports<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RkOe5rIi6P\">pic.twitter.com\/RkOe5rIi6P<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Carita Parks (@CaritaCParks) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CaritaCParks\/status\/1665135852630966272?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 3, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nowell also shared that the pre-draft process teaches the prospects things about themselves. He is learning some things about himself: &#8220;Just staying mentally strong throughout this process. You&#8217;re doing a lot of different things so you&#8217;ve got to stay disciplined.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While size comes up when assessing Nowell as a prospect, his college accomplishments speak for itself. He holds career averages of 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game in 131 games with Little Rock and Kansas State. As a fifth-year senior in 2022-23, Nowell averaged 17.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game with the Wildcats. He recorded 54 assists in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, the third- most in the tournament\u2019s history.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nowell will continue to make his workout rounds across the league to try to <a href=\"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2023\/05\/17\/wizards-eighth-pick-in-nba-draft-will-start-new-chapter\/\">secure a selection in the NBA Draft<\/a> on June 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.
