It marks the second Rising Stars selection of his young career and continues what has quietly been a season built more on growth than noise.

#Wizards forward Alex Sarr will be sidelined for the Castrol Rising Stars game in Los Angeles with a hamstring strain. His most notable jump has come from beyond the arc, shooting .393 from three, a 5.4 percent improvement from his rookie campaign.

Carrington is one of just two sophomores, alongside Stephon Castle, averaging 10-plus points and 4.5-plus assists per game over their career. He’s also the only sophomore in the league with more than 500 assists and 200 made three-pointers already to his name. Since entering the NBA in 2024-25, he has knocked down two or more threes in 72 games, the most of any player from his draft class.

Then there’s the durability. Carrington’s 135 consecutive games played mark the fourth-longest active streak in the league, a steady availability that has quietly become part of his value in Washington’s rebuild.

With Carrington’s selection, Washington will have four players represented in this year’s Rising Stars event, a notable benchmark for a franchise leaning into its youth movement, even if it arrives under unexpected circumstances.

Bub Carrington joins teammate Tre Johnson on Team T-Mac, coached by Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady, while sophomore Kyshawn George will suit up for Team Vince under Vince Carter.

The annual showcase will take place at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers, as part of NBA All-Star 2026 festivities.

Carrington’s return to Rising Stars may have come via replacement designation, but the foundation for it has been built over two seasons of steady production, improved efficiency and consistent availability, traits that often define sustainable growth more than highlight moments ever could.

Wizards guard Bub Carrington will replace Wizards center Alex Sarr on Team T-Mac in the 2026 @CastrolUSA Rising Stars (Friday, 2/13, 9pm/et, Peacock). pic.twitter.com/2uCntuxgtR
— #NBAAllStar (@NBAAllStar) February 12, 2026

Bub Carrington is back at Rising Stars as a replacement for teammate Alex Sarr.
