But through the first few weeks of the season, the Mystics have already shown resilience, competitiveness and the ability to respond after difficult performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That resilience was on display in Seattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just days after a frustrating 97-85 loss to the Storm, the Mystics responded with one of their strongest performances of the season, defeating Seattle 78-64 on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The turnaround was noticeable immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/Mystics?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Mystics<\/a> look to bounce back tonight in a rematch with the Seattle Storm. Despite the loss in the first meeting, there were positives. Shakira Austin discussed the growth of Georgia Amoore and Angela Dugalic after career-high performances, while Amoore reflected on the team\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gG4XRoa52f\">pic.twitter.com\/gG4XRoa52f<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Double Take Sports (@dbltakesports) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/dbltakesports\/status\/2059704151269929021?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 27, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington established control early with defensive intensity and consistent production from its frontcourt, building a commanding halftime lead that Seattle never seriously threatened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shakira Austin finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, continuing to show why her presence remains critical for this team when healthy and engaged. Kiki Iriafen and Michaela Onyenwere also provided important scoring support as Washington held Seattle to just 36 percent shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bounce-back win also reflected something that has quietly stood out about the Mystics early this season: despite their inexperience, they have not looked overwhelmed by adversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is still a young team learning how to close games, manage momentum swings and adjust to the speed of the WNBA schedule. There will likely continue to be uneven performances throughout the season.
