{"id":3803,"date":"2026-09-21T22:41:35","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T22:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/?p=3803"},"modified":"2026-09-22T01:42:47","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T01:42:47","slug":"ravens-crucial-catch-day-brings-players-and-children-impacted-by-cancer-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/21\/ravens-crucial-catch-day-brings-players-and-children-impacted-by-cancer-together\/","title":{"rendered":"Ravens Crucial Catch Day Brings Players and Children Impacted by Cancer Together"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For one night, football took a back seat. <a href=\"https:\/\/dbltakesports.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/17\/ravens-first-watch-party-offers-look-at-larger-vision-for-mt-bank-stadium\/\" title=\"\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a> players spent part of their day off Tuesday with approximately 100 children impacted by cancer and their siblings during the team\u2019s Crucial Catch Day at Stratosphere Social in Eldersburg, MD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event brought together children and families representing Casey Cares, Cool Kids Campaign, Horizon Day Camp, MedStar Health and Ronald McDonald House as part of the NFL\u2019s Crucial Catch initiative, which promotes cancer awareness and early detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio has-custom-css wp-custom-css-e5e88832\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Kaimon Rucker With the Bowling Assist \ud83c\udfb3\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mqsZ3dx216Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Ravens wide receiver Chris Moore, the experience offered a reminder that the impact went both ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m probably having more fun than they are, but it\u2019s been a blast,\u201d Moore told Double Take Sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore was one of several Ravens who took part in the event, along with Justice Hill, Nnamdi Madubuike, Kaimon Rucker, Mike Green, LaJohntay Wester and Jay Higgins IV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the evening, players joined the children for bowling, arcade games, cornhole and plenty of activities that gave them several opportunities to bond with the young people in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio has-custom-css wp-custom-css-c1f2df21\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Mike Green vs. Nnamdi Madubuike Gets Competitive \ud83d\ude02\ud83c\udfc0\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KOUM2e-lN8I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore said hearing the children\u2019s stories and seeing their joy helped put everyday challenges into perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust to hear their stories and see how they&#8217;re still here, living in the moment and having such joyous smiles on their faces,\u201d Moore said. \u201cIt shows you like our little problems that we go through on a daily basis, and there&#8217;s nothing to what they&#8217;re fighting every day, and they&#8217;re still able to come out here and just have a blast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the night\u2019s most personal activities gave children the opportunity to design sweatshirts that select Ravens players will wear during pregame warmups ahead of Baltimore\u2019s Crucial Catch game against the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore teamed up with one young participant to create his sweatshirt design. When she decided against drawing a Ravens head, the two came up with a shield instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe wanted to go her own way,\u201d Moore said. \u201cSo we came up with the shield. She did her design, and I taught her how to do her autograph. So her autograph is on there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That collaboration will make wearing the sweatshirt even more meaningful for Moore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s going to be very special, especially being able to spend time with her while drawing it,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s not one that\u2019s just handpicked. Me and her both worked on it, and we came up with something awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio has-custom-css wp-custom-css-4d563e8d\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Chris Moore on Connecting With Kids at Ravens Crucial Catch Event\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3uF1sUkUBiM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore also pointed to the platform NFL players have to bring attention to causes beyond football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have such a large platform as NFL players to be able to promote anybody in any way that has any type of need, but especially dealing with cancers or anything like that,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor and a privilege to be able to use my voice to allow people to bring awareness to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the children, Tuesday offered an evening of games, laughter and time with Ravens players. For the players, it offered something in return \u2014 perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And when Moore and his teammates take the field for Baltimore\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.org\/about-us\/our-partners\/sports-alliances\/nfl.html\" title=\"\">Crucial Catch<\/a> game, the sweatshirts they wear will carry reminders of the children who helped create them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ravens players spent part of their day off with children impacted by cancer, and some left with a little perspective of their own.
