The future continues to shine bright in D.C. Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron and forward Kiki Iriafen have been named reserves for the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game. The honor marks the second straight All-Star selection for both players, further solidifying the young duo as cornerstones of the Mystics’ new era.
Citron and Iriafen also made history with the selection. They are the first teammates since 1999 to earn consecutive All-Star nods in each of their first two WNBA seasons, joining Shannon Johnson, Taj McWilliams-Franklin, and Nykesha Sales of the Orlando Miracle.

The recognition comes as both players have elevated their games in year two. Citron and Iriafen are the only returning All-Stars from last season to increase their points, rebounds, and assists per game this year.
For Sonia Citron, the sophomore campaign has showcased her evolution into one of Washington’s most consistent two-way contributors. Through 17 starts, she is averaging 18.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field.
Citron’s breakout stretch came during the week of June 15-21, when she earned both Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week and Associated Press WNBA Player of the Week honors. During that span, she averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while helping lead Washington to three straight road wins against the Connecticut Sun, New York Liberty, and Minnesota Lynx.
Iriafen has continued to establish herself as one of the league’s most impactful young frontcourt players. Starting all 17 games this season, she is averaging 15.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 52.4% from the field.
Her dominance on the glass has been one of the biggest storylines of her sophomore season. Iriafen has recorded eight double-doubles and ranks sixth in the WNBA in rebounds per game. She also reached a career milestone this year, grabbing her 500th rebound and becoming the fastest player in Mystics history, and the ninth fastest player in league history, to accomplish the feat, doing so in just 58 games.
Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen’s selections mark the 12th time in franchise history the Mystics have had multiple All-Stars in the same season.
As Washington continues building around its young core, the back-to-back All-Star recognition serves as another sign that the foundation being developed in D.C. is already making an impact across the league.
