Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner is making big time moves that will pay huge dividends when his football career is over. Wagner created the investment firm Fuse Venture Partners alongside former Microsoft executive John Connors and former Amazon executive Satbir Khanuja.
The firm’s focus is “early-stage, venture capital fund investing in Seattle-based seed and Series A companies.” Fuse also wants to help a new wave of e-commerce companies “that are reinventing the modern economy with software.”
“Alot of companies in Seattle feel like they have to go down to the Bay area to get the money that they need to build their business. We’re here to make sure the companies in Seattle don’t leave Seattle.”

Wagner is no stranger to making successful business decisions. Last year, he surprisingly negotiated his $54 million deal (24.5 million guaranteed at signing) with the Seahawks. He also became an investor in Denali Therapeutics in 2014 and joined Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant in investing in venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz’s Culture Leadership Fund.
