The NBA is one of the most fashionable leagues in sports. So it only makes sense that the Washington Wizards delved into the fashion space hosting its first annual Style Showcase at the District Wharf Pier in Washington, D.C.
It was the perfect night for fashion, especially for a team that has Kyle Kuzma on the roster. Kuzma is known for his fashion sense and his pink sweater was a hit last season. With that being said, Kuzma is no stranger walking the runway and the entire Wizards roster joined him including Jordan Poole, Corey Kispert, Bilal Coulibaly, Deni Avdija, Daniel Gafford and Tyus Jones.
The showcase was designed in collaboration with Ean Williams of D.C. Fashion Week. This year’s showcase gave a nod to the to the District’s fashion sense, featuring some of the season’s latest styles and looks from collaborations with local artists Chris Pyrate, SOMEWHERE® and DC Proper,as well as from designers showing their latest collections at D.C. Fashion Week.
“This is my second season collaborating with the Washington Wizards and I love where it’s going!” said local artist/designer Chris Pyrate. “Being able to add my artistic touch and fashion perspective to my home team is second to none! D.C. has always been a trendsetter so to get to highlight D.C. style and its evolution with the Wizards is going to be fun for sure!”
It was a great night of networking, food, and fashion. Proceeds from the event benefited the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation.
