Scottie Scheffler Wins 2025 PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler added another milestone to his already stellar career on Sunday, capturing the 2025 PGA Championship with a five-shot victory at Quail Hollow. The win marks his third major title and 15th career PGA TOUR victory, further solidifying his place among golf’s elite.

Scheffler led by three strokes entering Sunday and never looked back, pulling away for the largest margin of victory at the PGA Championship since Rory McIlroy’s eight-stroke win in 2012. He becomes just the 48th player in history to win three or more majors and the 15th to have both a Masters and PGA Championship title on his resume.

With this victory, Scheffler improves to a perfect 3-for-3 when leading after 54 holes in a major. Each of his major wins, the 2022 and 2024 Masters Tournaments and now the 2025 PGA Championship, came by at least three strokes. He’s the first player to win his first three majors by that margin since Seve Ballesteros in 1983.

Scheffler’s performance at Quail Hollow also earns him his fifth top ten finish in six PGA Championship appearances and lifts him to No. 1 in the FedExCup standings. He is now one of just three modern-era players — alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods — to record 15 PGA TOUR wins, including three majors, before the age of 29.

His run of consistency is unmatched in the current era:

  • Fourth consecutive season with multiple PGA TOUR wins
  • Back-to-back victories in 2025 (CJ CUP Byron Nelson and PGA Championship)
  • Six consecutive wins when leading or co-leading after 54 holes in TOUR stroke-play events

Scheffler also joins Tiger Woods as the only players since 1985 to win back-to-back TOUR events by five or more strokes.

Behind him, Harris English, Bryson DeChambeau, and Davis Riley finished tied for second at 6-under. DeChambeau, who also placed T5 at the Masters, became the first player to finish runner-up in back-to-back PGA Championships since Dustin Johnson in 2020.

As the season heads into the summer stretch, one thing is clear: Scottie Scheffler is dominating at a historic pace. With three majors, 15 PGA TOUR wins, and a rare ability to close under pressure, Scheffler is firmly positioning himself among the game’s modern greats.
