Scottie Scheffler added another chapter to his remarkable run on the PGA TOUR, winning the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday for the second consecutive year. With a final-round 70, Scheffler finished at 10-under-par (278), four strokes clear of Ben Griffin to earn his 16th career PGA TOUR victory and third win in his last four starts.
“It was a great week,” Scheffler said after the win. “It’s always special being able to come here and play Mr. Nicklaus’s tournament. The golf course was a great test this week. The rough was as healthy as I had seen it… it was pretty nasty and it was a good challenge.”
Scheffler’s control off the tee proved critical on a challenging final day at Muirfield Village. “Only one bogey around this place is pretty good,” he said. “I hit a lot of fairways… I would say I drove the ball really nice today. I think that would probably be the thing I did best.”
Jack Nicklaus, the tournament’s host and 18-time major champion, praised Scheffler for his poise and execution. “Scottie didn’t play, for him, spectacular golf. He played good, solid, smart golf,” said Nicklaus. “That’s what the best player in the world does. He comes out and does things the right way and manages it.”

Scheffler’s four-shot swing was built steadily across the final holes. After a bogey at the 10th cut his lead to one, he responded with a clutch birdie at 11. “Making that putt on 11 was definitely really important to kind of keep [Griffin] at bay,” Scheffler said. He capitalized again on Griffin’s mistake at 12, ultimately reclaiming full control down the stretch.
The win places Scheffler in rare company. He becomes the second player after Tiger Woods (1999–2001) to successfully defend a title at the Memorial Tournament and joins Woods again as the only players to win both the Memorial and a major or THE PLAYERS Championship in multiple seasons.
Despite his dominance, Scheffler remains grounded in his approach. “I treat each tournament individually, and every tournament’s different, and I try to do my best to come out here and compete,” he said. “That’s what I love to do.”

The week in Dublin, Ohio was meaningful not just for the trophy, but also for the time spent with family. “The golf and winning tournaments, all that is great, but at the end of the day if you’re going home and there’s nobody to celebrate with, I think that can be a bit challenging,” said Scheffler. “My wife has been my biggest supporter… and this is a fun week for us. We have a lot of good memories here.”
With this latest win, Scheffler extends his lead in the FedExCup standings and continues to assert himself as the dominant force in men’s golf. As Jack Nicklaus put it: “He’s not a good player. He’s a great player.”
