Terps volleyball continued its strong start to the 2026 season with a straight-set win over Princeton in the Maryland Tournament.
The Terps swept the Tigers 25-17, 25-15, 25-20 to improve to 6-1, extending their winning streak to five matches and recording their fourth consecutive sweep.
Maryland took control early, building a 10-3 advantage in the opening set before closing it out 25-17. The Terps kept the pressure on in the second, using a 5-0 run to create separation on the way to a 25-15 win.
Princeton made things more competitive in the third set, cutting the Terps lead to 13-10, but the Terps maintained control and finished the match with a 25-20 victory.
Sydney Bryant led Maryland offensively with 14 kills, while Haley Melby added nine and Duru Gökçen finished with seven. The Terps hit .374 as a team.
Maryland also controlled the net defensively. Eva Rohrbach recorded seven blocks, while Ava Brown added four.
The victory marked the Terps fifth straight win and its fourth consecutive sweep, the program’s first four-match sweep streak since 2023. The Terps’ 6-1 start is also their best through seven matches since opening the 2021 season 13-0.
Maryland improved to 17-3 all-time against Princeton and remained unbeaten at home at 4-0.
The Terps followed the Princeton sweep with another straight-set victory over Saint Peter’s on Sunday to close out the Maryland Tournament and improve to 7-1.
